Welcome to the British Airborne Forces Association Australia, Victorian Branch.

Shrine._201_1_.jpg

The Association was founded on 15th June 1975. It?s first headquarters were based in a specially organised out-house at the home of Mick and Hilda Myram in Altona. Affectionately nicknamed The Doghouse it was the site of many progressive forward planning initiatives until March 1985, after the untimely death of Mick the property was sold and another venue needed to be found. They all, inevitably lacked the at home atmosphere of the original venue.

The Co-Founder with Jack Hampshire ( now deceased ) and first President was Stan Jones, who presided over the Association affairs until succeeded by Bill Warren ( now deceased ) in 1979.The first Secretary, Bob Barnett is also now unfortunately deceased. The first Treasurer was Johnny Johnstones, still happily going strong.

The outstanding events in the life of the Association were, the dedication of an Airborne Forces Memorial on 17th September 1984, where we meet after ANZAC DAY Marches ( see above photo ). Also a  National Rally in Sydney 1984 and a National Rally in Victoria in 1987.
